Natural Corriedale Combed Wool Top for Spinning, Felting, and Dyeing

This undyed Corriedale wool top is a versatile spinning and felting fiber known for its balance of softness, strength, and ease of use. Prepared as a combed top, the fibers are aligned parallel and the shorter fibers are removed, creating a smooth preparation that drafts evenly and spins into strong, consistent yarn.

Corriedale is widely appreciated by both beginning and experienced fiber artists. With a medium micron range and long staple length, it drafts smoothly on drop spindles or spinning wheels while producing yarn with excellent structure and resilience.

Naturally and undyed, this wool top is also an excellent base for hand dyeing, absorbing color evenly with acid dyes and other protein-fiber dye methods.

The fiber’s defined crimp allows it to felt readily, making it suitable for both needle felting and wet felting as well as spinning for knitting, crochet, and weaving projects.

A reliable, all-purpose wool, Corriedale offers a practical balance between softness and durability, making it a favorite fiber for learning to spin while still performing beautifully in finished garments and fiber art.
